You are Anointed and Appointed: TRUST GOD

Just as the Lord did for David so shall He do for you!

Scripture illuminates the profound journey of King David, who received God’s anointing three distinct times.

First Anointing: Recognized by God

"Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of the Lord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah."

1 Samuel 16:13 (NKJV)

In this first anointing, we see David, overlooked by men but chosen by God, being anointed by the prophet Samuel. Despite his family not considering him worthy, God saw in David a future king and recognized him prominently in front of his siblings. This anointing empowered David to face Goliath with courage and faith. It reminds us that Satan will challenge God’s calling on our lives, but through God’s strength, we can conquer any giant. Even as David faced continuous trials from King Saul, the anointing of God offered him wisdom and protection. **Here lies a powerful truth: God’s anointing offers divine protection and guidance.

Second Anointing: Recognized by Judah

"Then the men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. And they told David, saying, 'The men of Jabesh Gilead were the ones who buried Saul.'"

2 Samuel 2:4 (NKJV)

The second anointing came after Saul's death, as the tribe of Judah acknowledged David as their king. David then ruled over Judah, patiently awaiting God’s timing to ascend to the throne of all Israel. This seven-and-a-half-year period was another phase of divine preparation, teaching David crucial lessons in leadership and dependence on God. This journey reiterates that we are always in God’s training ground. Every season of our lives is a craft of God shaping us, stretching us, and guiding us toward our destinies. **Each anointing strengthens us, prepares us for greater responsibilities, and enhances our spiritual maturity.

Third Anointing: Recognized by All Israel

"Then all the tribes of Israel came to David at Hebron and spoke, saying, 'Indeed we are your bone and your flesh.'"

2 Samuel 5:1 (NKJV)

The third anointing established David as king over all Israel. What began as a young shepherd boy's modest calling culminated in the united acceptance of David’s God-ordained kingship by the entire nation. This final elevation underscores that God's timing is impeccable and His plans for us are beyond our imagination.

Reflecting on David’s life, we see that his journey wasn’t free from battles or testing. But each challenge was a critical step in God’s grand design, teaching us that His anointing endows us with the strength to persevere and the wisdom to walk in His purpose. Just as David had to trust in God's process, so must we believe in His perfect plan for our lives.

You are anointed and appointed by God. Trust in Him. Embrace each step of your journey, knowing that every trial is molding you, every battle is strengthening you, and every anointing is empowering you to fulfill your divine purpose.
