This morning in my prayer time the Lord began to discuss tables with me. He said the table you sit at makes a difference. Jesus sat at the sinners table
Matthew 9:10-13
While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners? On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’[a](B) For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.
Mark 2: 15-17
While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
Luke 5:29-39
Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
It's like when you at the restaurant and you go to sit down you always check to see if the table is dirty right. No one wants to eat at a dirty table. If it is dirty you would ask for another table or have it cleaned before sitting. No matter where you go you always check the table before sitting.
The purpose of this is not to not sit at the diry table but to help the person the table belongs too get it cleaned up. If you never sit with the sinner how can they truly know they need help. What's the saying? When you know better you do better. How would they know if you don't sit. We spend so much time preaching at the sinner instead of showing them. Do you respond to people talking at you. I don't!
No matter whose table it is we must be willing to sit. Willing to demonstrate Christ in word and deed. At all the tables we are called to we must be will to demonstrate. Most times we don't check those we are familiar with and that a major problem. That is were the enemy gets us most. Unchecked friends, love one and people we think we know and their dirty tables. Noticed I said unchecked. The table not the person. You still must sit. If you're called you must sit.
We are coming into a new season. Don't be afraid of dirty tables but instead give instructions on how to clean the table. That is more beneficial than leaving. If you leave someone who doesn't see the dirt could sit and be contaminated.
Let us remember who is the stronger power. Jesus! Stop acting like the devil is greater! Stop running when you see the devil. Stop running and start fighting. Demonstrate who you serve! Stop talking and start praying. Stop judging and extend grace or mercy. In turn you could be saving a nation. Remember we all have someone called unto us. We are disciple of Christ. If he was thee Savior. Then you are sent to save. You can't save if you don't sit.
