Right Now, Faith

Many find themselves trapped in what was and is to come for their lives—waiting on the pandemic to pass that they may get back to their everyday lives. Why are we waiting? Things are not moving; they are sustaining, and we are just waiting. Why? Well, I've decided I'm not waiting for the pandemic to pass to accomplish what God has called me to complete. Will I need to be wise, yes, and mindful of my health and different issues? Yes, but even in biblical times, the people had to do the same, but for some reason, we think we will be handed things without having to exercise faith that requires looking beyond what is in front of us and what others are saying. Do you believe what God says about you? Do you think what he said about your sisters and brothers in the bible is beyond your reach? I'm here to declare it is not! Everything God has promised you is obtainable. The first to manifest a great faith in God was Noah (Genesis 6:14-22).

Noah's faith was essential to maintain mankind's existence. Like today, Noah lived during a time where the people were concern more with living in this wicked world than being transformed by the power of God. Matthew 24:37-39 states, but as the days of Noah were, so shall also, the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so, shall also the coming of the Son of man be. But in what way is Noah an example of faith for us? Manifest - 1. clear or evident to the eye or mind. 2. Display or show (a quality or feeling) by one's acts or appearance, demonstrate.

Who Was Noah? Noah is in the tenth generation from Adam in the line of Seth (Genesis 5:1-32). His father, Lamech, gave him the name Noah, which is associated with the word "rest," in the hope that he would one day bring relief to the ground that cursed because of Adam's disobedience (Genesis 5:29; cf. Genesis 3:17-19). Noah lived in a day when the earth was corrupt and filled with violence (Genesis 6:11-12). Ultimately, God finally said enough and promised to destroy humankind with the world (Genesis 6:13). Perhaps the most significant thing about Noah is that he found grace in the eyes of the Lord (Genesis 6:8). This is why Noah is characterized as a righteous man, blameless in his generation, someone who walked with God, just as Enoch did (Genesis 6:9; cf. Ezekiel 14:14,20). In a day of unrestrained evil, Noah, who had an honest relationship with God, stands out (Genesis 7:1). His faith in God stands out. By faith, the attributed writer of Hebrews Apostle Paul defines faith as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrew11:1). Faith, in this context, is settled confidence in something as yet unseen but promised by God. Without faith in the promises of God, it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). Noah is a landmark figure in the history of redemption because he was a living example of "the just living by faith" (Hebrews 10:38). The evidence of Noah's faith is seen in his trusting God, believing in His Word, and acting in obedience to God's command to build the Ark (Genesis 6:22; 7:5).

What is God commanding you to build in this time of uncertainty? Your building is not limited to the structure. Remember the two important things Noah did that many of us missed in completing what the Lord has asked us to do. One is to Manifest - 1. clear or evident to the eye or mind. We don't have to make things happen; the Lord has a divine way to get it done. The second one is Display or show (a quality or feeling) by one's acts or appearance demonstrates. The Lord will put you on Display for all the naysayers, including yourself if you doubt what he is calling you to do. You could create a better you, family, relationships, career, business, ministry. There is no limit to what you can do if you trust the Lord and allow your faith fixed on what the Lord has commanded for you.
