"Enjoy Your Time of Singleness: Being Single Is A Blessing!”
I want to thank God for my season of singleness! I can testify and boldly declare that God is a keeper and He will give you joy. Now, don’t get me wrong I would love to be married! However, I refuse to settle and get ahead of God’s timing. I want to echo what the Apostle Paul stated in Philippians 4:11. He wrote, “Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” I am writing this to encourage you! I’m a witness that being single isn’t a curse! No, being single is a blessing from God! You can have joy and be happy in your single life!
By the authority of Jesus Christ, I bind every lie that the enemy would tell you that there’s something wrong with you and that’s the reason why you aren’t married. I want to encourage you with what God whispered to me one day while I was in prayer. He simply said to me, it’s going to be hard for me to share you with a man because I love you so much! When God gave me this revelation, it forever changed my life and the way I view being single.
I want to reiterate this to you again! There isn’t anything wrong with you! It’s a blessing from God to be single! You are enough! “Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it” (Psalm 139:14, NLT). Beloved, you need to know that God made you be so dope! You are a designer original! Everything about you is bomb.com. Lol. Seriously, stop listening to the lies of the enemy and start focusing on who/what God has declared you to be on the earth. You got it going on!!! If you’re still struggling with your self-worth and your self-esteem! Here are some declarations you can speak over yourself. Declare these declarations as you look in the mirror or write them down to where you can visibly see these truths until you start believing it. Here’s some declarations that has helped me:
✴ I am beautiful/handsome
✴ I am the apple of God’s eye
✴ I am a child of the most High God
✴ I am accepted
✴ I am valuable
I know the loneliness can be challenging. Especially, when you have a strong desire for marriage and everywhere you go there’s always movies and advertisements about being booed up. Don’t allow this to become a distraction to you. Guard your heart!!! Beloved, you are never alone!!! Your heavenly Father is always with you. “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” ( Deuteronomy 31:6-8) Right now, at this moment, ask the LORD to reveal Himself to you! God wants you to experience His tangible presence! God wants to love on you and dote over you! God wants to be your boo! Set aside time each day to get into God’s presence, so He can assure you of His love. As you learn how to love yourself and have an authentic relationship with God, at the appointed time, God will send the right man/woman into your life. “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.” (Psalm 37:4)
While you and I wait on God, we must allow the Holy Spirit to prepare and perfect us for marriage. God has created someone special for me and for you. Consequently, we can’t allow the idea of marriage to become an idol. We must keep our heart, time, and attention on God. In our singleness, it’s a time for us to draw closer to God. Lastly, we must carry out the instructions God has given to us for our ministries and we must surrender every aspect of our lives to God. Be encouraged! Stay the course and enjoy the journey!
